Jumping for Joy

I finally got my financial aid. I am so freaking happy right now.

In other news, Taco Bell is amazing. :D

LADY GAGA.

OMG SQUEAL BITCHES. XD July 4th concert was amazing. The only complaint would be to some of the audience members: seriously do not take your kids with you if they're under 13-14. Granted, taking them to Atlantic City is a little skeevy in the first place... My seats were pretty amazing, 6 rows up from the floor, but not too many in my section was a fan of dancing apparently (but everyone on the floor and near the front was). I kinda looked odd dancing by myself, lol. These aren't my pictures and there were glittering lights everywhere, btw (don't curse me out on bad quality).

First up was the enigmatic, floor-writhing glam-rock band, Semi-Precious Weapons.

Ummm... yeah. I don't think many people were feeling them, and I was also surrounded by people around their forties, asking me if the lead vocalist was a boy or a girl. He is a boy, people.

I don't hate rock at all. I don't hate glam rock either. However, through their music is basically the same curses and eyeliners and guitar squealing that I've heard before in other glam rock bands. But hey, he is fucking gorgeous.

Then, there was Lady Gaga. These fans are adorably insane. :D

She's fabulous, whacky, sexy, totally eccentric, yet extremely grateful. To experience her concert was pretty amazing. I love the theatrics, but I loved the music so much more. She played songs off of The Fame and The Fame Monster, with dance tracks like "Dance in the Dark" and "Monster," and ballads like "Speechless" and a concert bonus, "You and I."

Her costumes are pretty standard...for Lady Gaga. They were odd, yet fashionable. My favorite would be the lighted up white dress that sparkled so much that my camera phone complained.

There were some surprises in the song choice. Notably, "You and I" was a new song that she performed only once before. Other surprises for me (since I didn't read fan reports of the other locations) were "Vanity" which is a song she wrote 4 years ago and non-singles off of The Fame: "Money Honey" and "Boys Boys Boys."

I didn't think that I was a huge fan until I realized that I sang along to all the songs.

Most of us stood; most of us sang along; most of us danced; some some of us sat and listened; some of us moshed; some of us were drunk; some of us made out. As she mentioned, we should be free. It was July 4th after all.

To Northeast USA

HEAT WAVE

It sucks. Just needed to get that out of the way.

Sunny New York

I had a major panic attack today over my financial aid package. It's not yet resolved but I've taken all possible steps and can only wait in the meantime.

I thought everything was over, my schooling, my future because of this one small bump, but then, I took a deep breath in and took a long walk to the post office. The weather was hot, the city was is smelly, and the streets were littered with dead rats and trash. My description makes it seem horrible but it wasn't so bad. It was the freedom of being able to roam alone and peek at people, so vibrant and different, out of the corners of my eyes that made all the difference and calmed my nerves.

Plus the post office was really empty for once and there was no line.

*Insert funky cuss here*

So it's the summer. And I'm following my mother as an intern, that basically does nothing. I'm pretty sure she only wants me to follow her so I can be an unskilled slave, but anyway, I'm in a job that I get no instructions yet I get yelled at anyway for doing nothing. Hmmm. I wondered if she planned the no instruction part or just the yelling part.

Anyway, since I'm not doing anything besides researching financial deals (that are often fraudulent), I think I'm gonna set a goal of posting at least every other day in this blog or retropunks.

And to conclude this brief-ass blog entry, I'm still upset that Ghana won over USA. :(

Crowd Lu

I have been listening to Taiwanese music lately. Crowd Lu (or Vitas Lu) is so adorable with his big glasses, bowl cut hair, and big smile. His style is fun and smooth. His voice and guitar playing is addictive. His influences (Whitney Houston, Boyz II Men) match mine! :D
